Meet our team
Viva80 Bulgaria Aid was founded in 1989 by Anita Hammer. After the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Eastern Bloc, years of misery and despair followed in Bulgaria. Bulgaria Aid, a small non-profit organization, has set itself the goal of procuring relief supplies for children's and orphanages, organizations for the disabled and hospitals and sending them to Bulgaria. The association Viva80 Bulgaria Aid focuses on well run homes and hospitals with trustworthy managers. Over the years we have supported about 30 homes and hospitals with urgently needed supplies. In this way, Viva80 Bulgaria Aid has been able to make life easier for about 6,000 home residents or patients. Recently, we have also been investing in the education of young people to help them enter the workforce, and in the training and performances of young, talented Bulgarian musicians. Our trustworthy employee in Sofia, who has been working for Viva80 Bulgaria Aid free of charge for 30 years, checks the use of the donated funds and goods on site.
Volunteers
All employees of Viva80 Bulgaria Aid work without remuneration. Expenses and other costs are paid by the volunteers themselves. This ensures that every franc donated directly benefits those in need.
